CITY MULTI Multi-Zone VRF Systems
Description:
Water-cooled condensing units of the WY and WR2 series provide an alternative to conventional outdoor units with air-cooled heat exchangers. Their compact dimensions allow installation inside buildings. The use of a water circuit in multi-zone VRF systems combines the advantages of water-based and refrigerant-based systems.
Optimized Energy Efficiency: The temperature and flow rate of the heat transfer medium (water) supplied to the refrigerant heat exchanger can be optimized to achieve maximum refrigeration cycle efficiency.
Flexible Installation: Water-cooled condensing units can be installed close to indoor units, for example, on individual floors of high-rise buildings. This minimizes capacity losses associated with long refrigerant piping.
Year-Round Cooling: There is no direct heat exchange between the refrigerant circuit and outdoor air. The intermediate water circuit provides additional flexibility in controlling system operating conditions, making it suitable for applications requiring year-round cooling.
Reduced Installation Restrictions: The water circuit removes certain limitations related to the distance and height difference between indoor VRF units and external heat rejection equipment, such as cooling towers. This is particularly advantageous for high-rise buildings and large building complexes.
Heat Recovery Opportunities: When several water-cooled condensing units share a common water circuit, waste heat from systems operating in cooling mode can be recovered and used to heat other areas. For example, heat generated by server rooms, commercial kitchens, and other technical spaces can be utilized to heat office areas.
