CITY MULTI VRF Systems

CITY MULTI – Multi-Zone VRF Systems

Series Description

Mitsubishi Electric CITY MULTI VRF systems provide an efficient and flexible air conditioning solution for small and medium-sized office and residential buildings.
Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) technology offers significant energy-saving potential compared with conventional chiller-based central air conditioning systems.
Thanks to their flexibility, energy efficiency, and advanced control capabilities, CITY MULTI systems are also increasingly used in large multi-storey buildings.

CITY MULTI R2 – Heat Recovery Systems

The CITY MULTI R2 Series is designed to meet the diverse heating and cooling requirements of modern buildings.
For example, office spaces may require heating while server rooms or other areas simultaneously require cooling.
In such applications, the CITY MULTI R2 two-pipe heat recovery system provides an ideal solution.
Each indoor unit can be controlled independently, allowing different areas of the building to operate in heating or cooling mode simultaneously.
This technology provides individual comfort while improving overall system efficiency through heat recovery.

CITY MULTI WR2 – Water-Cooled Heat Recovery Systems

The CITY MULTI WR2 Series combines water-cooled VRF technology with advanced heat recovery capabilities.
These systems are particularly suitable for high-rise buildings where significant height differences may make conventional outdoor unit installation impractical.
Since the compressor and heat exchanger units can be installed inside the building, they are protected from harsh outdoor conditions, including corrosive coastal environments.
Another important advantage of water-cooled systems is their ability to operate independently of direct outdoor air temperature conditions, provided that the required water circuit operating parameters are maintained.
The WR2 Series offers flexible installation options and efficient heat recovery for complex building applications.

M-NET Communication and Control Technology

The M-NET communication system uses a DC voltage component with a superimposed data signal.
This communication network not only enables data exchange between system components but also provides electrical power for certain control functions.
For example, the DC component supports backup control of the electronic expansion valves in indoor units.
This allows the CITY MULTI outdoor unit to control the indoor units' electronic expansion valves even when the electrical power supply to the indoor units has been disconnected.
This feature can be particularly important in residential buildings, where occupants may switch off the electrical power supply to their indoor units during extended periods of absence.
Such functionality contributes to more reliable refrigerant circuit management and overall system operation.
